Carry and Deliver Goods Apprenticeship

This Apprenticeship programme is suitable for the drivers of light vehicles, motorcycles and cycles involved in deliveries of an NVQ at Level 2 in Carrying and Delivering Goods together with two Key Skills and an element on Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

The CDG Level 2 NVQ consists of seven separate units; six of which are mandatory and the seventh is an option from a choice of two:

NVQ Level 2

Mandatory Units

  • Contribute to effective working relationships
  • Maintain the safety and security of the load, self and property
  • Contribute to the provision of customer services
  • Complete pre-journey and post-journey procedures
  • Planning the route and timings for delivery and collection of loads
  • Transport goods and materials

Optional unit:

choose one of the following two units:

  • Handling goods and materials
  • Handling goods

Additional Units

  • Dealing with payment transactions
  • Operate specialised plant and machinery to performance requirements
  • Lift, transfer and position loads
