Learning Resource Centres

Although the main focus for vocational qualifications is generally on Phase 2 Schools where trade training begins, the Trust also runs 19 Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) spread throughout the United Kingdom and Germany.

Our LRCs provide a range of learning facilities including computer suites for training and testing, classrooms and offices. Some of our centres also provide Learndirect courses. The staff at our centres are all highly trained and offer Key Skills delivery, additional learning support and assessor training, as well administering the local apprenticeship and NVQ programme. Some LRCs are not manned on a permanent basis but open on demand.

Our LRCs are situated near large concentrations of Service personnel to provide ongoing training support to Soldiers, Airmen and women and Marines in their units once they have completed their phase 2 training. LRCs act as a focal point where learners can go to progress their training and receive Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG). They also provide a base from which our assessors operate.
